CAST MR-16 Bullet (CBL1CB): Difficulty inserting lamp in socket
Socket floats on spring so lamp insertion is difficult
Issue
Inserting an MR-16 lamp into socket is difficult because the socket is not supported.
Cause
The MR-16 socket in the CAST Bullet Light is engineered so that when the lamp is removed, the ceramic socket can be pulled out of the fixture body. The connecting wires are just long enough so the socket rests on the body lip. This allows the installer to firmly push an MR-16 into place. If, however, the body is angled away from the stake, the socket wires are shortened.
Remedy
When replacing an MR-16 lamp, be sure that the body and stake are in a straight line - pointing straight up. This allows the socket lead wires to fully extend so the socket can rest on the body lip.
