No power to all fixtures on a single run.
Issue
No power to all fixtures on a single run. Fixtures on other runs are powered.
Troubleshooting, Causes and Remedies
- Check that magnetic circuit breaker for that run's common has not tripped. If it has tripped then common may be overloaded or there may be a short circuit in the wire run. Reduce load on that common and see if the remaining lamps function. Continue troubleshooting by checking amperage at common. If circuit is not overloaded then the suspect wire run may have a short circuit caused by a cut or nick.
- If magnetic circuit breaker has not tripped, check that home run wires are securely fastened inside terminal blocks, that terminal block set screws (top and bottom) are securely tightened and that voltage is present at the common (when measured with one lead on common, the other on any voltage tap) and on the supect voltage tap.
