Lamp lights only when tapped.
Issue
Lamp fails to light unless fixture is tapped.
Cause
Lamp filament has broken. Tapping the fixture causes the broken ends to temporarily fuse together. When lamp is turned off, filament cools and separates again.
Remedy
Replace lamp.
