Scottish and British Technology Group Visit CAST Lighting for CRM Study Tour

Technology consultants serving the Scottish and British Governments visited several U.S. companies to learn about successful implementations of CRM systems. CAST Lighting, a leading outdoor lighting manufacturer, was one of these companies.

The study tour, organized by Steven Smith of Strategem, was launched on behalf of Scottish Enterprise, the economic development arm of the Scottish and British Governments. The aim of the tour was to explore how best-practice companies benefit from CRM systems.

CAST Lighting was chosen for the tour because of its successful implementation and use of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The details of the roll-out were featured on the Microsoft web site; this has led to many calls for CAST Lighting to share their CRM experience.

Steve Parrott, Communication and Marketing Director for CAST Lighting, commented on the meeting, “The Scottish and British representatives were keenly interested in the process of our CRM implementation. They especially appreciated our views on the needs assessment phase that preceded the CRM launch. Our development team spent several weeks exploring how the CRM could best be leveraged to meet our goals -  before the system was launched.”

Also present at the meeting, David Buggy of Beringer Associates described how his company worked with CAST Lighting to help them transfer records from their prior CRM to the newer, more robust Microsoft product. He also provided details of the process of creating workflows that increase the effectiveness of the CRM.
